Quick Post

Just a quick post today. I feel like I'm running out of time. This is one of those cards that looked totally different in my mind, the more I played with it, the more it changed into something I didn't recognize anymore.

This is for Designed 2 Delight's weekly challenge. I'll remake this card later. Something doesn't sit quite right about it to me.

Weekend is over...

And now I am sad. Yeah, I really need to win the lottery so I can do exactly what I want to do. Finished up my DT project for this week and a couple other cards. Wanted to share one though today.

Supplies: Cardstock & Vellum - DCWV & The Paper Company; Image - The Character Cafe; Eyelets - Joann's; Ribbon - Target; Punch - Martha Stewart

I have been really trying to use the word art I have been collecting over the years. There are some really nice pieces being offered on the web. The problem I have is that I didn't start labeling these and my images until this year, so I have quite a few pieces and images that I have no clue who they belong to now.

Going to bed or I will never get up tomorrow.

A Pearl

It's been a long week! TGIF! Finally finished this birthday card for my cousin. I used the Oyster image from Daisy Doodles. It is part of the stamp set called Beyond the Reef. It's amazing that the internet has quotes for everything and so I was able to find the perfect sentiment to use. Take a look.

Supplies: Cardstock - Bazzill, PP - Target; Pearls - Darice; Glitter - JoAnn's; Punches - Martha Stewart & EK Success

Oh yeah and this was my first gate folded card. See I told you 2010 was my year of trying new things.

Have you used any templates?

I keep seeing the gorgeous little gift sets all over the place and people say they used a template. Ok, so I have some templates but these things come out so tiny, you can only place a handful of candy in them. What am I doing wrong? How do I get to make a bigger box or bag? Something big enough to hold a real gift and not a little trinket or is that what these are for? On people's blogs, these things look normal sized. On my blog this looks normal sized. LOL!

I like how this came out. I just wished it was bigger. This template from MyScrapChick.com is small. It hold 2 mini sized bottles of Bath a& Body Works lotion. The image is a freebie at Anne Bodil's blog, here.

So tell me your template experiences.

Monday, Monday...

Wow, still trying to finish up some projects from this weekend. Needless to say I'm not done yet. One more very important card needs to be made. My niece turned 2 on Sunday and I still need to mail her gift, but you know Auntie can't send the gift without a special made card for my baby! I need to find a princess image for her. Work is never done.

Anyway, here is my project for
Treehouse Stamps. They run a monthly guest designer contest using one of their images. Here is my entry. It is a note pad holder. Guess I should have opened it and taken a photo as well.

I've posted one of these before. If you want to see what the inside looks like, here is a link to the previous post. Nothing fancy.

Brighter Days

There's going to be brighter days ahead, hopefully. My daughter is having a real hard time with our cat dying. Out of the blue today she was very emotional over Bugsy's death. It's only been 3 weeks, so I don't expect her to be over it. Ironically, today was the Girl Scout's donation day for the local pet rescue. We visited the rescue and of course they had a bumper crop of adorable kittens. Needless to say we ended up there for 2 hours.

Anyway, I was able to get out a few cards today.

Distress It

It's a new challenge over at the AIFactory challenge blog. Anything goes as long as you DISTRESS IT... Distressing isn't something I do often or well, but I like how this card came out. When I hear distress, I think vintage and I haven't mastered the concept of vintage at all.

Here's my card for the challenge.

Did you hear the screaming?....

I know you could hear the screaming today, I even scared the dog. Some protection he was. I am a city girl - all city. I grew up in Brooklyn, NY and I lived in Baltimore, MD for over 10 years. So would someone please tell me when did they start making spiders this big? OMG! Needless to say, I emptied the can of Raid on that Jurassic thing. Ok, now that you have stopped laughing at me, I have two cards to share. That's all my nerves could squeak out.
